An AI Assistant for Your Practice That Answers, Screens, and Books
Someone looking for a therapist usually does it late at night, after a hard day, on a phone. They have three questions: do you treat what I am dealing with, what does it cost, and can I actually get in. If the answers are buried in a page they have to hunt through, they move on to the next name in the directory.
Skald Studio builds a custom AI assistant for therapy practice websites that answers those questions in your voice, screens for fit using the criteria you set, and books the consultation into the calendar you already use. It knows your specialties, your rates, whether you take their insurance, and your telehealth policy. It does not take clinical history and it does not pretend to be a clinician. It gets a nervous person from reading to booked.
What Usually Goes Wrong
The 11 p.m. inquiry
Most first contacts happen outside office hours. An assistant that responds immediately, warmly, and accurately keeps that person engaged until the consult is on the calendar, instead of losing them to whoever answered first.
Consults that were never a fit
A free consult with someone whose needs are outside your scope costs you an hour and them a disappointment. Screening questions you write, asked kindly, route people to the right place before the calendar fills with mismatches.
Privacy done wrong
A generic chatbot will happily collect symptoms and history into a plain inbox. Ours is built to stay at scheduling level detail, to say clearly what it is and is not, and to keep anything clinical inside your practice management tool.
The same twelve questions
Rates, sliding scale, insurance, telehealth, session length, cancellation policy, parking. Your assistant answers them consistently and correctly every time, so your admin time goes to clients instead of email.

Common Questions
Is an AI assistant on a therapy website HIPAA compliant?
The assistant is designed to stay outside protected health information: it discusses services, rates, availability, and logistics, and it asks only what is needed to book a consult. Anything clinical belongs in your HIPAA-covered practice management tool, and the assistant directs people there. We will walk through your specific setup during discovery.
Will it sound like a robot?
It sounds like your practice. We train it on how you describe your work and the language your clients use, and you review its answers before it goes live. It also says plainly that it is an assistant, which clients appreciate.
Can it screen out clients I am not the right fit for?
Yes. You define the criteria, whether that is age range, specialties, insurance, or location for in-person sessions, and the assistant asks in a warm, non-clinical way. People outside your scope get a kind message and, if you want, a referral suggestion.
Does it work with SimplePractice, TherapyNotes, or my scheduler?
It books through the scheduling link or calendar you already use, so new clients land in your existing intake flow rather than a separate system.
What does it cost?
AI tools are scoped after a free 30-minute consultation with a written estimate before any work begins. The build is a one-time fee; a monthly plan covers usage and upkeep. If you also need a website, our Starter build is $2,500 and Studio is $6,500.
I do not have a website yet. Can you do both?
Yes, and it is the most common way we build these. See our therapist website design page; the assistant is designed in from the start rather than bolted on later.
Let the first conversation happen at 11 p.m.
Book a free consultation and tell us about your practice. You will get a straight answer on whether an assistant fits, and a written estimate if it does.
